Adairs has proudly partnered with Channel 7’s House Rules for 2018. Continuing to break new territory with even bigger challenges and designs, this season’s contestants will compete against each other to design, build and produce a room each week in one of the contestant’s homes, following their specific House Rules. If you’ve spotted Adairs products on House Rules, here you’ll find how we’ve curated the latest looks from the episodes this season, as well as providing you with styling tips on how you can easily recreate this look in your own home. Be inspired by House Rules and see our styling recap from the latest episode below.
For renovation number eight on this week’s episode of House Rules, Mandy and Toad had their Candelo home renovated by the contestants. Following the house rules, they completed an incredible home makeover, which included two beautifully styled kid’s bedrooms, redecorated in bright and fun jewel colours.
To complete the look, introduce a colour palate of bright colours, such as pinks and blues for the bedlinen, throws and cushions in the room. Decorate by adding playful elements - our Vintage Canopy, Pom Pom Garlands and Heidi’s Doll House are perfect – creating a fun and bright, dreamy space they’ll love to play in.
This week on House Rules, contestants followed the rules set by Leigh and Kristie, to achieve a “California Cool” look in their Rye home. Contestants chose to layer the master bedroom with neutral bedlinen and added pops of blue and grey through cushions and throws to create a relaxed, coastal look.
When it comes to styling this “California Cool” interior trend throughout your home, use wooden furniture and add colour through homewares such as floor rugs, cushions and throws.
Complete the look by choosing faux plants to help bring the space to life, and finish by hanging your favourite statement artwork on the wall.Shop the Look >
Following this week’s house rules, as one of the stand out requests, contestants had to achieve a French Provincial style bedroom in Kim and Michelle’s home. This now hugely popular interior style is all about adding an old-world charm with luxury elements, much like the French have done since the 1700’s, into your home.
To complete this French Provincial look in your home, rely on classic tufted furniture with button detailing, such as our Westbourne Bed Head, and keep bedlinen classic and simple in neutral hues such as cream or white.
Then, decorate with detailed luxe elements - choose and layer fur cushions to add texture and warmth and style some of your favourite home accessories with gold detailing throughout the room, to really give the room the luxury feel it deserves.
Be inspired by Josh and Brandon’s Aussie Lads’ Pad style on this week’s episode of House Rules by teaming dark hues such as navy and blue, with soft shades of grey to achieve this masculine look in your very own home.
An ideal look for modern homes, the key to pulling this look off is to avoid bright, feminine colours such as pinks, purples and reds, and to keep the colour palette throughout the home warm and dark. Add another dimension into the room by pairing rich tones and textures together; velvet with fur or velvet with wool, such as our Chunky Knitted Throw teamed perfectly together with our Bombay Navy Velvet Cushion, to really help soften the look and bring warmth into the room.
This American, coastal and causal interior design style is a fresh and modern look that is easy to achieve in a seaside home. Following the House Rules, contestants teamed crisp whites with blue-grey hues, and added a twist of lemon to the interiors to style this costal and casual, beach-inspired look in Mel and Dave’s home.
To complete this elegant seaside trend in your home, ensure both blue and white tones are dominantly displayed throughout the interiors, and use the smaller touches such as hand towels, cushions or ornaments in yellow hues to add pops of colour and reflect Mel & Dave’s House Rules home.
One of the five House Rules for the Rosebery House Renovation in episode one was to ‘create contemporary luxury feel in a café cool home’, and both couples; Toad & Mandy and Kim & Michelle certainly achieved this vision by interweaving monochrome elements with wood furniture and pops of colour to achieve a modern look and feel.
Achieving an urban, contemporary luxe-look in your home is all about combing modern hues with elements of nature. And, to complete the overall look, finish by layering with texture to add warmth.
Here, we’ve paired faux greenery and wooden-inspired furniture, like our Coachella Leather Chair in tan with modern hues, such as the matte black Nordic floor lamp with the Colorado Plant Stand in black. We then added texture with our Reindeer Skin floor rug and the Malmo Linen Throw in denim, for layering.
