Fleur Harris is a painter, illustrator, creative thinker and all-round lover of all things whimsical. We sat down to chat with the artist about what captures her imagination and how to incorporate her beautiful pieces into your home.
Tell us about your style.
My artworks are rich in whimsical details, crafted with carefully considered colour palettes. My style is quite eclectic because I am drawn to art and designs from all genres and time periods. I have as much fun trawling through the V&A Fashion archives as I do admiring vintage children’s books in a second-hand store or attending progressive interiors fairs like Maison&Objet.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by the wonder of childhood, and the magic of the natural world. I often incorporate flowers, plants and gentle animals into my works. I love to explore whimsical themes & characters to delight and inspire the imagination. I’m passionate about creating artworks and products that have meaning; designed to enrich people’s lives by bringing moments of happiness that become treasured memories.

I am very connected to the environment I’m in, wherever I may be. I notice tiny details, the colours, the temperature, the textures… the beauty of it all swirls in me and inspires me. Sometimes something really unique will stand out to me and I will take special note of it, maybe the pattern on a leaf, the shape of an animal that I can make out in the clouds, or the way a bird jumps around on a branch… it could be anything. It can spark a moment of inspiration and take my imagination to some very wonderful places.
