How to Choose the Right Plant Pots or Vases for Your Plants?

Choosing the right plant pot or vase for your plant can be tricky. There are many factors you’ll need to consider, including the type of plant, the climate, the amount of sunlight and water the plant needs, and the size of the pot. Some plants do better in clay pots, while others do better in plastic pots. Some plants need to be in a pot that is deep and narrow, while others need a shallower and wider pot.  
 
While artificial or faux plants can go in any pot that can fit the base, real plants will almost always need drainage. A good size drainage hole in the base of your plant holder will help to prevent root rot. If you’re worried about water leakage, we would recommend choosing planting pots with matching saucers, as the saucers will catch any overflow.  
 
Consider where you want your plant to live – for example, a windowsill will reduce how much space you have to work with. Buy plant stands for spaces where a smaller plant won't be seen at floor level (like next to an entertainment unit or in a hallway). It’s also best to avoid dark colours like black if you’ll be putting your plant somewhere with a lot of sunlight, as you may accidentally bake your plant!
