Wash before wear
Give your sheets a rinse in cold water before you first use them, to make sure you’ve shaken off any dust or irritants. Not only will the cold water benefit your sheets, but washing in cold water is a great step for reducing your environmental impact. Once you’ve rinsed your bedlinen, hang to dry in plenty of time for bed. Make sure you separate your lights and colours as well.
How and when to wash
Make sure you use cold water to keep your sheets soft and silky. Use a liquid detergent formulated to work best in colder water and set your machine to 30°C - this ensures all the benefits stay locked in for years of good night’s sleep. Avoid bleach and don’t soak the sheets before you wash them.
Drying and ironing
An important step in your bedlinen care is getting your sheets out of the washing machine as soon as you can – no musty smells here. Hang your sheets out to dry in the shade, but if you just can’t wait to slide into bed you can also tumble dry them on a cool setting. To get a crisp finish, give them a warm iron then get ready for bed!
Quick care guide:
- Wash prior to using.
- Cold hand or machine wash (30°), inside out on a gentle cycle using liquid detergent.
- Line dry in the shade, or tumble dry on cool.
- Press with a warm iron, inside out.
- Wash whites, colours and prints separately.
- Do not rub, soak or wring.
- Do not bleach or dry clean.
