Care Guide: Vintage Washed Linen

When you’ve invested in gorgeous, premium bedlinen it’s important to make sure you take care of it!

We’ve made it simple for you, by putting together this care guide on how to wash linen. Read on to learn everything you need to know to keep your bedlinen fresh and cosy, for many years of great sleeps.

Wash before use.

We know it’s tempting to pop your brand new sheets straight on your bed and get settled into the cosiness. Try to hold off! It’s important to wash linen sheets before you use them to remove any dust or irritants that might have accumulated. We suggest getting this done in the morning, so you’re all set by bedtime.

How to wash properly.

One of the best features of our Vintage Washed Linen range is that it softens over time, with repeated washing – giving a comfortable night’s sleep for years to come. To keep the French flax linen in great condition, wash in cold water (30° is perfect). Make sure your lights and colours are separated, be sure to use a liquid detergent if you can and steer clear of the bleach!

Drying and ironing

It’s best to line dry your sheets in the shade to avoid damage, but you can pop them in the dryer on a low temperature if you just can’t wait to jump into bed. If you’re like us, and you can’t sleep when your sheets are wrinkly then go ahead and press them with a warm iron, while they’re inside out. Now make your bed!

Quick Care Guide:

  • Wash prior to using.

  • Cold hand or machine wash (30°), inside out on a gentle cycle using liquid detergent.

  • Line dry in the shade, or tumble dry on low only.

  • Press with a warm iron, inside out.

  • Wash whites, colours and prints separately.

  • Do not rub, soak or wring.

  • Do not bleach or dry clean.
