Rebecca Jones, Senior Design Manager
About Rebecca:
I always knew I wanted to be a designer. My grandmother taught me to sew and embroider when I was very small and her enthusiasm ignited mine! I went on to study textile design in the UK and won the international student design award for home textiles, which led to my first job: designing bed linen for John Lewis in London. I later went to work for a leading fashion studio, designing embroidery and print
for fashion.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love getting to draw and paint on a daily basis! It's also really exciting to see the change in perception of local design. When I first arrived in Australia, there was a definite tendency for brands and retailers to only want to copy what was happening in the USA and UK. This is definitely not the case anymore! Bed linen designed here is now setting the trends in some of the biggest markets in the world.
I also love designing for children, especially having a little boy of my own - many of the boys' designs get a tick of approval from him!
What are some of the favourite designs you've created for Adairs?
I loved hand sketchingBirch Forest . This design's popularity has been really satisfying for me. I've even had requests for it from my friends in the UK! I love feminine designs combined with vintage motifs, Natural History and Collector being two examples of this.

1Felix SpotOne of my favourites for winter, it's fun, colourful and fully reversible so you can change it up depending on your mood!
-
2Ultra Soft JerseyI love the Jersey bed linen, especially the sheets which have arrived just in time for cold nights! These are a great alternative to flannelette if you are a 'cold' sleeper - soft and cosy and perfect for kids too!
-
3Safari ElkThis is really on-trend with the current nature and forest inspirations we're seeing in home textiles. A great feature cushion for an occasional chair or the couch.

4Montana FurThis throw is just fabulous. An easy way to add a touch of elegance to the sofa in the winter months.
